A cult


—ural shift.

Moving from an input-based price setting into a different model (outputs/outcomes) is a cultural shift. Even if you're solo.

It demands you to think, see and act in different ways. And you will return to your default at times.

It's a lot of effort and being aware of what's happening at all times.

If you've been pricing on the low end and are always trying to see how to make it profitable (and squeeze the most out of anything and anywhere), it's quite likely you'll default to it when you price on the high end at times.

And that's ok. It happens.

But you need to think, see, and focus on not squeezing the most out of it to make it profitable.

You need to think on how your customers will get something highly valuable for them, and within that, deliver things at a high profit for you, based on that thing they care about.

That's a shift.

And it's cultural because it's not only you who sees that (shift). It's also your team, if you have one. And if you don't, it's also how your suppliers see that. And how your customers see you.

Won't happen overnight.

Yet, when it happens, what you'll see, you can't unsee.
